We’ve started the academic year with an exciting project working with UCL Academy. Think & Do are running sessions with years 7, 8, 9, and 10 to help them rewild and design a section of their playground. This piece of land is surrounded by main roads and currently has minimal vegetation or wildlife. There have been some amazing, creative ideas suggested by students. One group proposed they create a soundscape in the garden with wind chimes and water sounds while another pushed for a bug hotel. It was a great session and you could really sense the excitement, collaboration, and curiosity among students. They also had a great amount of knowledge on factors they need to consider including soil quality, light levels, and level of maintenance required.
